Meet the Staff

Carter McInnis, Lead Pastor - carter@ifoundtheway.com
What do you need to know about me? I love Jesus, and I love people. That′s pretty much the reason why I do what I do. I believe that God has incredible plans for our lives if we follow Him. I believe that we will get the most out of life if we embrace exactly who He created us to be. I know it′s not always easy to get there. My passion is helping people get there. That′s why I felt called to start this church called The Way. I also love my family, my incredible wife, Emily, and our three wild boys, Morgan, Tanner, and Walker. You probably need to know that I grew up in South Carolina, but my family is mostly from Georgia, and this place is in my blood. I love living here – in this state and in this community. I′ve been in ministry since 2000, and life at Church of The Way is by far the most exhilarating ride in all those years. I am passionate about my faith, family, helping people find The Way to God, music, good food (including Mello Yello & Sweet Tea), and sports (mostly jogging and college football).  Check out my blog at www.ifoundtheway.blogspot.com.

Josh Farr, Worship Pastor - josh@ifoundtheway.com
I have been involved at Church of The Way since it's birth in 2005. Coming onto staff in February of 2007, I count it a pleasure to lead the music portion of our worship on Sunday mornings. I believe God desires for all people to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Music merely represents one way we worship God. Complete worship of God only occurs when we "offer our bodies as living sacrifices; holy and acceptable to Him". (Romans 12:1) I have been blessed with a wonderful wife, Hollie, and a precious son, Caleb, both of whom I love very, very much.

Dorothy Harden, Prayer & Care Pastor - dorothy@ifoundtheway.com
God literally called me out of Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church in early 2005 to help start Church of The Way with these words from Isaiah 30:2: "This is The Way. Walk in it." I have been so blessed to serve and worship with an awesome group of people. I consider it a responsibility and privilege to pray with and for others. God has taught me so much about the power of prayer and His desire to communicate with us and take us deeper in our relationship with Him through prayer. I have experienced His love and grace over and over through my life experiences and believe that He has a plan and purpose for each of our lives. I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, and have lived in this area for the last 34 years. I have been blessed with a loving husband, Barry, of 35 years (yes, I'm old!), a son, Robert, and a precious grandson, Christian.

Heather Teague, LIFE Group Pastor - heather@ifoundtheway.com
I love being a part of Church of The Way. I also really enjoy eating, and any place that can roll connecting with God and awesome snacks into every Sunday morning is a place I want to be…especially when I can wear jeans (or sweat pants) and know that God’s going to show up regardless. My background is in school counseling, and I truly believe in the power of relationships, ultimately between each of us as individuals with our Creator, but also between all of us as human beings. I think Church of The Way is a great place to build both. In my free time, my husband, James, and I enjoy eating great food that was prepared by someone else, catching up on our “tivo-ed” television shows, watching college football, spending time with our son, Harris, and our two dogs, Norman and Woody, and preparing for the birth of our daughter in March.

Amy Hall, Children’s Pastor - amy@ifoundtheway.com
I’ve been with The Way since it first opened its doors, laughing, learning, teaching, playing, acting, creating and getting messy. Yes I work with kids. I have a very loud, loving, friendly “doesn’t-know-a-stranger” husband named Mark, whom I adore. We have 4 children who range from “super-high-energy” to “book-worm” to “smarter-than-us” (because we apparently are not very smart). Our kids range from elementary school age to college age. I love my kids! I believe that there is nothing more important than family. I love to play soccer on my indoor league, and I love sushi so much that I could eat it every day. I believe that kids are tomorrow’s adults who need to be put on the right path. If they fall off when they get older, at least they have a good view of it with a better chance of getting back on. I believe that there is no such thing as a bad kid, only bad choices. I feel that it is important to tie in everyday, age-appropriate life situations into each Sunday’s lesson. I am passionate about sharing God’s word with kids, and I enjoy every minute that I have with them.

Adam Witter, Student Pastor - adam@ifoundtheway.com
After completing my bachelor's degree in Business Education from the University of Georgia in 2007, Carter approached me with the opportunity to come on as the Student Pastor at Church of The Way. Growing up in the mother church that birthed Church of The Way, it was great for me to be involved in a church with some familiar faces. I received a calling in youth ministry during high school. Throughout college I have been involved in doing missions—foreign and local—and other such ministries, but have found that my heart is in working with youth. I find joy in their understanding of Christ and what it truly means to be a Christian. Every student has the potential to change the world, and my hope is that I can point them in the right direction. "Don't let anyone look down on you for being young. Instead, make your speech, behavior, love, faith, and purity an example for other believers" (1 Timothy 4:12).

Jason Bunzey, Technical Director - bunzey@ifoundtheway.com
I joined Church of The Way as the sound guy at the beginning, and it's been a learning experience ever since. I joined the staff in June of 2007 and haven't looked back. I've made some great friends and love having the opportunity to help lead people to Jesus. My wife Marie and I just welcomed our first child, Savannah, in December of '07 and look forward to raising her in "The Way."

Emily McInnis, Nursery Director - emily@ifoundtheway.com
I have been a part of Church of The Way since its beginning. As the mother of two small children myself, I know how important it is for parents to have a safe and loving place to leave their infants and toddlers while they attend the worship experience. I also believe that it is never too early to teach children that God loves them. I grew up in the beautiful state of North Carolina, but now I gladly call Georgia my home. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband, Carter, and three precious sons, Morgan, Tanner, and Walker.

Marie Bunzey, Children’s Assistant - marie@ifoundtheway.com
I have been with Church of The Way since it began. I felt called to use my passion for and experience with children to work with the Children's Ministry. After volunteering regularly in My Father's House, I joined the staff in January 2007 as the Children's Assistant. I enjoy watching the children of The Way grow in their faith. My husband, Jason, and I have one beautiful baby girl, Savannah.

Kathy Peterson, Graphic Designer - kathy@ifoundtheway.com
I joined the staff at Church of The Way in Summer 2005 as Ministry Assistant to Carter and Staff Graphic Designer. I have not only had the pleasure of witnessing the birth of The Way, but also the many people it has touched since then. What a blessing it is to see the growth and passion in the people, the message, and the ministry. I have been married to Ted, my #1 blessing, for over 26 years, and we have two awesome sons—one who is attending the University of Tennessee (Go Vols! Sorry, Carter…) and another who is an upcoming senior at Central Gwinnett High School. My family is what fills my heart on a daily basis. We are active members of the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville (The Way’s mother church) and have lived in Lawrenceville for the past 18 years.

Gail Pulliam, Ministry Assistant - gail@ifoundtheway.com
I joined the staff at Church of The Way in January 2008.  I am blessed with my husband, John, and our two beautiful daughters, ages 10 and 6.  I love fitness, running, cooking and anything to do with health/nutrition.  Most of all I love to see God’s hand at work in the lives of others, and I’m so excited to be a part of God’s team at The Way.  My family and I have been active members of FUMC Lawrenceville for the last 15 years.
